Mauritius Market Watch | June 10th 2015: Mauritius equity market extends bullish run, market cap adds MUR 25 million
Port Louis, Mauritius (Capital Markets in Africa):- Mauritius equity market extended it bullish runs at end of today’s trading session, the SEMDEX index went up by 0.01 percent to reach 1,976.37 points and the Sem-10 rose by 0.16 percent to 376.21 points. The market capitalization was recorded at MUR 219.749 billion (against MUR 219.724 billion recorded yesterday) and overall total volume trade recorded at 17.785 million and turnover amounted to MUR 60.727 million. SBM Holdings Limited recorded 17.091 million volume and valued at MUR 15.895 million and CIEL Limited recorded 378,355 traded securities valued at MUR 2.724 million. Equally, MCB Group recorded 157,704 traded stocks valued at MUR 32.881 million.
The market sentiment was negative today, as the market breadth (advancer/decliners ratio) calculated at 0.46x with 6 advancers and 13 decliners. Topping the price gainers were TERRA Mauritius gained 1.56 percent to close at MUR 32.50, NIT Mauritius advanced by 1.14 percent to settle at MUR 44.50 and ENL LAND Limited Mauritius gained 0.44 percent to trade at MUR 45.50. On the other hand, New Mauritius Hotels and GO LIFE Mauritius fell by 65.87 percent and 25.00 percent with closing price of MUR 21.50 and US$0.30 respectively. Likewise, Automatic System Limited Mauritius went down by 3.03 percent to close at MUR 36.85 and United Docks Limited plummeted by 2.94 percent to close at MUR 66.00.
On the DEM counter, the DEMEX index plunged by 0.94 percent to close at 204.87 points and market capitalization of MUR 48.689 billion (lost MUR 611 million) and market turnover of MUR 25.641 million on volume of 664,425. The losers were SHUMBA COAL (USD), CONSTANCE HOTEL and ECUDCOS nose-dive by 16.67 percent, 7.29 percent and 1.31 percent to close at US$0.10, MUR 35.60 and MUR 15.10 respectively. While UNITED Investment was the only gainer, by adding 1.66 percent to conclude at MUR 12.25.
